March 2009

Ashlynn had the oldest horse in the group, but she was very sweet and Ashlynn enjoyed being able to ride by herself.

The kids found the ranch dog and loved tickling him.

Grandma Jacque and Papa came down to visit and took Ashlynn horseback riding for her birthday. It was alot of fun and everyone really enjoyed it. Aunt Audrey Slye joined us and we all felt a little sore the next day.

February 2009

This is Audrey and I with our cousin Jason when his show he was touring with came to Arnold Hall in Colorado Springs. It was a lot of fun to catch up and see a great show!

Grandma Tricia and Addison at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in CO Springs when we were up visting the beginning of the month.

Addison was a little skeptical about feeding the giraffes, but Ashlynn was convincing. This is Ashlynn and Will's favorite part of the zoo. You get to feed them special giraffe crackers and the giraffes come right up to you and their huge black tongue takes the cracker from your hand. Its a great zoo with amazing exhibits. Its one of the things we miss most about CO besides our family.

Can you believe its 2009 has come and is going through its motions so fast? Ashlynn turned 6 on Feb 28and was so excited to get birthday money. She saved up her money and bought a pink DS. She also sent out thank you letters to show off her new reading and writing skills.

catching up

These are some pics from this past January. I havent been on the computer as much, but am trying to keep up with this and just adding to my to do list every couple days between dirty diaprs, school, the crazy dog, gymnastics and spring gardening fever. Love you all!! By the way, the pic is of my new hair. Liked it, but its too hard to maintain, so I colored it to a dark brown. I think I am backwards, I am supposed to be lighter in the summer...o well.

Will turns 3!

William and Addison riding around in the bumper car Grandma Jacque and Papa got him.Addison loved it.

Wills bday cake. That was the only present he wanted. If you look at the bottom left you will see a little addition to the cake that Mark added. He thought it would be funny to throw in a corgy dog in with the dinosaurs. None of the kids noticed, but the adults got a good laugh out of it.

Will is waving HI with olives. He took one off after the picture and realized it was 3 ...like him.

William turned 3 and we had a Dinosaur bday for him. We had ou neighbors and friends of ours come over. Aunt Audrey (Slye) and Grandma Jacque and Papa came too. We cooked out on the grill and the kids played on the playset our back. William was so tired he didn't even want to open his presents that night. Ashlynn was so dissapointed. She woke up early the next morning and easily convinced Will to let her open the presents and show him what he got. The plan worked out for both of them. Will ended up gtting some gift cards and money and bought himself soe new additions to his GeoTrax train set. His most favorite toys ever. He can play trains all day. he had to get this one set that he said was his favorite. Its the set Grampy bought for him and he has in CO when we visit. The bday was a blast and thanks to everyone for the cards and gifts. They really made our first bday away from CO and great one. Enjoy the pics and we hope to visit with everyone soon.

The State Fair

eating at the State Fair

A little tired from the fair....obviously. Will wanted to get comfy.
The crazy train ride. This was Will's fav...it was so boring it hurt to watch.

Ashlynn and Will really liked the swings.

The kids went on here about 20 times, luckily we bought the unlimited ride pass so that they could go again and again and again.

Jaque and Tony came down on Saturday for William's bday Tuesday night. We all went to the State Fair on Sunday. The kids had a blast and Addison was a champ. She didn't make a peep and just hung out and sipped some fresh lemonade from the straw. We tried some of the native fair foods down here in the Land of Enchantment. We had just some normal stuffed sopapilla's and tacos for dinner. The real crazy choices were the green chili relleno corn dog and fried snickers. The kids had cotton candy and kettle corn, too.

Getting stuff done around the house

Having fun...
Looking for trouble...she knows will left that bag with Nerds candy somewhere...but where????
Addison successfully found the bag then pried it open. She is contemplating the best approach to getting some of that candy in her mouth...
Going in for the kill...she did have some minor success. By the time I put down the camera she was able to experience Nerds at a young age and I think she liked it.

Addison hanging out with everybody and practicing standing up and getting into trouble.

Ashlynn with the catepillar.
Look how good she is doimg standing up...yeah Addison!!
Ashlynn with her little friend. She loves bugs.

William is trying to get the catepillar up next to his face for the picture.

Today has been a good day. We hav managed to get to the stoe and get some stuff for cooking out tonight. We also have all had some fun free time this morning. The kids actually played by themselves while Mark and I watched some of Favre's new team the Jets play ( and yes Dad the Cowboys are on now...Go Dallas ;0) After we got home Ashlynn jumped on the Nintendo, which is going to requie time parameters as she really likes it. Will and Mark were in the backyard and found a friend on our honeysuckle plant we are planting. The kids really seemed to have fun with him/her , but went outside as soon as he left a present for Mark on his wrist. Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying there Sunday. We are cooking out with the neighbors and Audrey is coming over after work to play a card game we like called Phase 10. Love you all!!!
